In spring 2027 Rasa Žakevičiūtė and Tatiana Romashko are going to teach an intensive course in a hybrid format on visual, network and rhetorical media analysis, using Russian-language media as a case study. The course is a part of the nationwide Expertise in Russian and Eastern European Studies (ExpREES) network.
This course will explore methodological approaches to media studies. Using the Russian-language media in Finland as an example, the course will introduce visual, network, and rhetorical discourse analyses, providing an opportunity to practice these methods in simulated classroom research settings. The variety of proposed approaches will give students a comprehensive understanding of Russian-language media in Finland.
